Candidates who are preparing for government jobs need to register themselves in the employment exchanges in Assam. Earlier, the Registration process was Offline, but from September 2021, the registration procedure was digitized. Now candidates can register themselves for Employment Exchange Online from the official Seva Setu Assam Portal – employment.assam.gov.in.

Employment Exchange Registration 2025
The Seva Setu Assam portal provides a user-friendly online platform for individuals to Register, renew, and re-registrate online with the Employment Exchange. Age above 14 years can Register in the Employment Exchange online two ways one is Aadhaar Based and other is Non Aadhaar Based. The Aadhaar Based Registration Doesn’t require any physical verification.

How to Apply Online for Employment Exchange Registration?
Now candidates can register their names in Employment Exchanges Online through the official Seva Setu Assam portal. On the Employment Exchange Registration, there are two types of verification processes Aadhaar-based and non-aadhaar-based. The Aadhaar-based process is completely online, whereas the non-Aadhaar-based process needs to be verified offline.
Aadhaar-based registration process
The Aadhaar-based Employment Exchange registration process is very simple and it can be done online through the official portal using their AADHAAR Card Number and no physical verification is required. Follow the step-by-step guide below to apply now.
Step #1: Visit the Employment Exchange Registration link on the Sewa Setu Portal.
Step #2: Click on “Apply with Aadhaar (Recommended)“

Step #3: Now Click on “Register Now”

Step #4: Sign up for e-Pramaan will appear on the Screen.
Step #5: Enter your Mobile Number and Click on “Generate OTP“
Step #6: Now Enter your OTP fill out the form carefully and Press the “Sign Up” button.

Step #9: Log in to the Portal using your Login ID and OTP/Password.
Step #7: On the Next page, choose the Apply with AADHAAR option.
Step #8: Now verify your Aadhaar Card with OTP on Your Mobile Number.
Step #10: Now fill out the form using all the necessary information and Upload all the scanned copies of the Educational Qualification certificate into a single PDF.
Step #11: Once the successfully submitted of application, The Employment Exchange Card (X 10) will be issued to his/ her registered Email.
Non-Aadhaar-based registration process
The candidate who doesn’t have an Aadhaar card can also apply for an employment exchange certificate through a non-Aadhaar-based verification process. However, applicants will have to physically visit the Employment Exchange office(s) for document verification. Follow the step-by-step guide for the non-Aadhaar-based registration process.
- Sign Up for e-Praman (Follow Steps 1 to 6)
- Visit the Employment Exchange Registration link on the Sewa Setu Portal. (non-aadhaar)
- Click on “Apply without Aadhaar“
- Login using User Name and Password.
- Now fill out the form carefully with your personal and Educational details and Click on “Save & Next“

- Now Select the date and time for verification of documents.
- Visit the respective employment exchange office with the original copy of your documents for verification.
- Follow the necessary guidelines and process as described by concerned officials.
- Finally, you will receive the Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

- In case of a P.W.D ( Persons With Disability) candidate –Disability certificate is issued by competent authority.
- Experience Certificate: Already employed candidates may upload experience certificates as applicable.
- Non-Creamy Layer Certificate: OBC/ MOBC-NCL candidates may upload a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate as applicable.
Online Registration at Employment Exchange
There are three types of services available online at https://employment.assam.gov.in and the services are Registration, Re-registration, and Renewal.
Online Registration: It applies to only those candidates who are not yet registered with any Employment Exchanges (either online or offline), i.e. all new candidates.
Online Re-Registration: It is applicable in the following cases:
- Candidates whose paper-based/offline registration certificate is due for renewal (remember that here you have to click ‘re-registration’ and not ‘renewal’).
- Candidates whose certificate (either online or offline), has ‘lapsed’ i.e. well beyond three years since the date of registration have passed.
- If a candidate wants to add/upgrade the educational qualifications/other courses/skills in the database & the certificate.
- If a candidate wants to transfer his registration to another district.
- In case of a change in address, phone number, email ID, or any other details.
Online Renewal: This will be needed after three years from now when registration is done through online mode and will be due for ‘renewal’. So this is not required for the time being.
Employment Exchange Assam 2025 Register
Candidates will need to first click ‘Register’ and register themselves on the website by entering their name, email id and phone number, etc. Login details thus generated from here should be remembered for further use.
Apply with Aadhaar: (Recommended):
Once a candidate registers with the portal, he/she needs to click either ‘Apply with AADHAR’ or ‘Apply without AADHAR’ and then log in using the login details generated in step 6.
It is strongly recommended to opt for AADHAR-based registration due to:
- A certificate will be instantly generated by the system and delivered once the candidate enters all the details and uploads necessary documents etc.
- No physical verification of documents is required at the Employment Exchange
Apply without Aadhaar:
If someone doesn’t have AADHAR, then he or she may opt for “Apply without AADHAR“.
- Candidates will enter all the necessary details and upload photographs, signatures, and other relevant documents wherever asked.
- The candidate will have to select a date and time slot for physical verification of the documents at the Employment Exchange.
- After submission, an ‘acknowledgment slip’ will be generated. This will also be sent as a text message to the candidate. This has to be shown at the Employment Exchange on the day of document verification.
Note: Candidates can seek assistance from the nearest Public Facilitation Centre situated at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner or Circle Officer for this purpose.
Important Note
1. All citizens of India above the age of 14 years who are permanent residents of Assam are eligible to register their names in Employment Exchanges of the State of Assam.
2. Any applicant below age of 18 must have to submit an undertaking for parents/legal guardian’s consent regarding registration with Employment Exchange of Assam and sharing/processing of personal data thereof.
3. The candidates are eligible for Registration in one Employment Exchange only in the state, where they are permanent residents within the jurisdiction of the District.
4. Applicants who are already employed and seeking better employment have to be registered only after the production of a “No Objection Certificate” issued by the employer. It is applicable only for permanent and temporary central/state govt. employees.
5. After successfully submitting the application Online Employment Exchange Card (X 10) will be issued to his/her registered Email.
6. Every registrant shall renew his /her registration once in three (3) years in the due month as indicated on his/her Registration card.
7. Failure to renew the registration even after the lapse of the grace period (3 months), will lead to cancellation of registration and subsequent removal from Live Register maintained in the Employment Exchange.
8. No request for renewal of registration after the expiry of the due month and grace period shall be entertained under any circumstances.
